The Great Pyramid Complex at Giza, was called "Ikhet," which translates to "Glorious Light." The indigenous name for "pyramid" is " According to the ancient Kemetians the Place of Ascension served as a ritual center for the Per Ankh schools of initiation known as the Mystery Schools to the Greeks. The Ancient Kemetian priesthoods had an advanced understanding of sound, vibration, and sacred geometry, which they built into their temples for practical ritualistic purposes. The Kings and Queens chambers were designed to harness resonance frequencies to induce higher states of consciousness during rituals.
It is said that the pharaohs would use the Mer structures which were encased in highly reflective white limestone, capped with solid gold to "Turn night into day" with a radiance that symbolized their divine connection to the gods and illuminated the surrounding land. This dazzling appearance not only showcased the pharaoh's grandeur but also reinforced their association with the sun god Ra, emphasizing their role as intermediaries between the divine and the earthly realms. The golden capstone, or pyramidion, would have added to this effect, reflecting sunlight and possibly serving as a beacon that linked the pharaoh to the heavens. The reflective surfaces of the pyramid, coupled with its precise orientation to the cardinal points, allowed for an intricate interplay of light and shadow, creating a sacred space where the physical and spiritual realms converged.
Rituals conducted within these hallowed halls were believed to facilitate communication with the celestial bodies, enhancing the spiritual journey of the initiates. The alignment of the pyramid with the stars, particularly Orion, further emphasized its purpose as a gateway to the afterlife, where the pharaohs would ascend to join the gods among the stars. This profound understanding of the universe, combined with advanced architectural techniques, illustrates the remarkable sophistication of the ancient Kemetians and their deep reverence for the mysteries of existence.
The inner chambers were made of granite, which contains high levels of quartz crystal, a material capable of converting mechanical energy into electrical energy, a process called “piezoelectric effects”. Acoustics engineer Tom Danley conducted experiments within the Great Pyramid's King's Chamber and found that the chambers have unusual acoustic properties. Danley found that the chambers resonate at a frequency around 117 Hz which is close to the lower gamma range and known to induce the beta and theta brain states, which is associated with heightened perception, spiritual experiences, and deep states of meditation. Some studies suggest these lower gamma waves are linked to mystical states, insight, and deep focus. The dimensions of the chambers were built to amplify specific sound waves, much like a tuning fork. In theory, they could alter the harmonics within the chambers to different frequencies to induce trance-like states or altered states of consciousness, enhancing the psychoactive effects.
Proponents of these ideas have suggested the ancient mystery schools might have used the pyramids for ritualistic, out-of-body experiences, which assisted in the enlightenment process. The Uraeus, seen on the forehead of the Alabaster Head of King Menkaura, symbolizes Kundalini energy, which is often described as a dormant, coiled serpent at the base of the spine. Uraeus is a Greek word which means “she/he who rears up”. Symbolic of the sacred initiation rituals that would take place within the Per Ankh temples or "House’s of Life”. Depicted as a rearing cobra on the crowns of Nsut’s, the Uraeus represents the activation of higher consciousness—a process facilitated by the high priests within the Mer structures. In this context, the pyramid structures serve as places of ascension, representing the journey of the soul toward enlightenment, divine wisdom, and the ultimate union with the cosmos.
Some theorists suggest the sarcophagus in the King’s Chamber was not for burial but for sensory deprivation and consciousness expansion, similar to a modern-day flotation tank. The structure may have acted as a giant resonance chamber, amplifying sound vibrations to induce states of deep meditation or even mystical experiences. Some researchers believe that chanting, drumming, or the use of certain sound frequencies within the pyramid could activate these effects. Acoustic experiments inside the pyramid have confirmed resonance effects at certain frequencies, but mainstream science has not fully explored the connection to consciousness or accepted these theories.
